People living in modern times tend to have chronic illness, some of which still puzzle western medicine-trained doctors. And Chinese wisdom passed down by ancestors-herbal healing- can sometimes bring wonderful effects. Chen Ru-sian, who has been studying Chinese herbal medicine for more than 20 years, is called “Teacher A-Jhong” amicably by residents and is a member of Changhua County Medicinal Plants Association. He has two herbal medicine farms, one is situated behind Singyi Temple, Yongpin Village, which is chiefly used for demonstration and instruction; another is in the field, with so many different kinds of near-distinction plants that even professors of universities couldn’t help exclaiming, ”Eureka!”
 

Chen Ru-sian also concocts different kinds of herbal teas which help cure many patients away from chronic illnesses. He enthusiastically instructs Chinese herbal healing and hopes to pass down this precious heritage. He also plans to open a tea house for tourists to take a rest and learn something about the herbal plants.
