Sihu Village used to be called Sishih Lake . Due to special geological environment, there were many marshes in the village in early times, what was worse, the drainage was very poor. So the village would be flooded after every downpour and looked like a lake. It was to the west of Wayao, so it got its name. It got the name Sihu Village after Taiwan 's retrocession. Sihu Village is the most populous village in Puyan Township . Instead of being composed of several settlements, Sihu, only one village , has 18 neighborhoods, more than 500 households and more than three thousand people. Residents are diligent and kind-hearted. Sihu is a traditional village, with religious faith centering on Site Temple (called Wangye Temple by everyone). In Japanese Occupation the chief thoroughfares in Sihu Village were Dasin Road and Dasin Second Lane . Farm land was re-divided after Taiwan 's retrocession, which in turn made the farms roads very convenient. The irrigation system is based on Puyanpi, Papao Irrigation Canal . In the industries, agriculture is based in rice, with vegetables as supplements. Industries include factories running plywood, plastic and screw processing. Businesses include drugstores, eateries and shops selling agricultural produce, which concentrate on both side of Dasin Road and Dasin Second Lane .
The local dignitaries include the incumbent Town Chief Chen Cing-huang, incumbent Director of Puyan Farmers' Association Chen Jhao-si and ex-Town Chief Chen Gen-tu, making residents of Sihu Village feel proud too.

What's more, Yang Jin-dian's cement sculptures (different animals) that can be seen island-wide, Gao Shu-gen's bamboo wares (who ever received an interview by TV stations and who is recognized by the society) and Chen Li-yan, who learned painting and mud sculpture by herself are also very famous. Besides, the “funeral help society” is also recognized by the society.
Sihu Village is the most populous village in Puyan Township . Instead of being composed of several settlements, Sihu becomes, by only one village, the most populous village in Puyan Township .
